Dear Neighbor,
You may be among the hundreds of thousands of people who live or work in proximity to a natural gas pipeline right of way.
Today, more than 250,000 miles of interstate transmission pipeline stretch along rights of way across the United States to deliver dependable, clean-burning natural gas, nature's most nearly perfect fuel, to more than 50 million American households and businesses.
Safe reliable delivery of natural gas is our primary concern as an operator.
Panhandle Energy’s pipelines are designed, installed, tested, operated and maintained to standards that meet or exceed regulatory requirements. And our employees receive regular and thorough training to operate and maintain our pipeline system to transport natural gas in a manner that provides for the safety of the general public.
As part of our ongoing damage-prevention program, we patrol our pipeline right of way corridors regularly by air and periodically patrol on foot to look for signs such as loss of soil cover over the pipeline, leaks, unauthorized construction activity or other developments that could impact our ability to operate the pipeline safely.
To maintain a safe pipeline system, we also need the assistance of those living and working close to our pipelines to help keep our rights of way clear of trees and structures for effective surveillance. The safety portion of this Web site is designed to help you identify our pipelines and to provide the information you need to recognize and respond to a pipeline emergency. Please read the information carefully and use the 1-800 telephone numbers to notify us 24 hours a day, seven days a week, if you observe any abnormal activity near the pipeline facilities or in the unlikely event an emergency occurs.
Thank you.
