Florida Gas Transmission will build approximately 450 miles of pipeline parallel to existing pipelines to minimize land impact. A preliminary route of the additional 130 miles has been selected. The company is currently asking landowners for permission to survey their land before a final route determination is made. In addition, the company will work closely with the appropriate federal, state and local permitting agencies to further minimize impact to the land and the environment.

Property owners are entitled by law to receive compensation for having a pipeline on their property. Our goal is to reach agreement with the property owners to acquire voluntary easements for necessary property rights. During this process, Florida Gas Transmission plans to work with property owners to address specific interests they may have.

The easement, or right of way agreement, would provide a permanent, limited interest in the land and enable us to construct, operate, inspect, maintain, repair or replace the pipeline. In most cases, property owners will most likely be able to use the right of way as they did before construction, although the easement must be kept clear of obstructions.

For property owners, the land agent assigned to work with the owner would be the primary contact. If the land agent is not able to address all your concerns, please call the Florida Gas Transmission office in Tampa toll-free at 1-877-663-9161.
