Mohn to Interim President of Panhandle Energy WILKES-BARRE, Pa. – (BUSINESS WIRE) – June 17, 2003 – Southern Union Company (“Southern Union”) (NYSE: SUG) today announced the appointment of Jeryl L. Mohn to Interim President of its Panhandle Energy (“Panhandle”) subsidiary. Mr. Mohn succeeds former Panhandle President and Chief Operating Officer Christopher A. Helms. A 29-year employee of Panhandle, Mr. Mohn most recently served as Senior Vice President. In that position, he maintained overall responsibility for a number of areas, including operations and engineering, gas control, gas measurement, LNG operations, strategic planning, human resources and public affairs. He previously served as Panhandle’s Vice President of Operations and Engineering. Mr. Mohn joined Panhandle in 1974 as a Transmission Engineer. Over the years, he has held a number of positions of increasing responsibility, including serving as Superintendent of Safety and Security for Panhandle’s Trunkline LNG unit, Division Manager of its Trunkline Gas Company unit, and General Manager of Transmission for Duke Energy’s Northeast natural gas pipelines, among others. Mr. Mohn is a 1974 magna cum laude graduate of Wichita State University, where he received a Bachelor of Science degree in mechanical engineering. In 1998, he completed the general management program at Harvard Business School. He serves on the board of directors of the Boys and Girls Country of Houston, a residential care facility for children from families in crisis.
