PANHANDLE ENERGY ANNOUNCES OFFICER APPOINTMENTSHOUSTON - May 10, 2005 -Panhandle Energy, Southern Union Company’s (NYSE:SUG) interstate natural gas pipeline operations, today announced two officer appointments effective May 9, 2005. Michael J. Moran has been named vice president of optimization and logistics and Gregg E. Russell has been named vice president of marketing. Both will report to Rob Bond, president and chief operating officer of Panhandle Energy. Moran, 39, is now responsible for asset optimization and utilization, pricing of service offerings, marketing operations, supply development, contract administration, customer service and gas control for Panhandle Eastern Pipe Line Company, Trunkline Gas Company, Trunkline LNG Company and Sea Robin Pipeline Company. Before being named to this position, Moran was general manager of optimization and marketing operations. He joined the company in 2000 as director of commercial optimization. Since that time, his responsibilities have increased to include marketing operations, Trunkline LNG Company and customer and competitor analysis. Moran has almost 15 years of experience in the natural gas industry involving marketing, trading, business development and commercial operations. Previously he worked for Coral Energy Resources and El Paso Corporation. He received a Bachelor of Science degree in 1988 and a Master of Business Administration degree in 1991 from Texas A&M University. Russell, 39, is now responsible for the commercial activity and business development for Panhandle Eastern Pipe Line Company, Trunkline Gas Company, Trunkline LNG Company and Sea Robin Pipeline Company. Before being named to his current position, Russell was general manager of sales. He joined the company in 1989 as an associate analyst in regulatory affairs. Since then, Russell has held various positions of increasing responsibility in the regulatory affairs and marketing departments. Before joining Panhandle, he was a rate analyst with United Gas Pipeline. Russell received a Bachelor of Arts degree in economics from the University of Houston in 1988.
