ROBERT O. BOND NAMED TO PRESIDENT & COO OF SOUTHERN UNION’S PIPELINE OPERATIONSWILKES-BARRE, Pa. - (BUSINESS WIRE) - April 4, 2005 -Southern Union Company ("Southern Union" or the "Company") (NYSE: SUG) announced today the appointment of Robert O. Bond, 45, to president and chief operating officer of the Panhandle Energy and CrossCountry Energy interstate natural gas pipeline operations. Bond succeeds Stanley C. Horton, who has resigned to pursue another career opportunity. Southern Union Chairman and CEO George L. Lindemann stated, "Rob’s twenty years of management and leadership experience in the pipeline and LNG industries, along with his long-standing relationships with our customers, make him a perfect fit for the position." Since November 2004, Bond has served as senior vice president, chief commercial officer for Panhandle Energy. Panhandle Energy manages the operations and business activities of Panhandle Eastern Pipe Line Company, Trunkline Gas Company, Trunkline LNG Company, Sea Robin Pipeline Company and storage related to those systems. Bond joined Panhandle Energy as executive director of commercial optimization in February 2000 and was named vice president of marketing in April 2002. He was named to senior vice president of marketing for Panhandle Energy in July 2003. Before joining Panhandle Energy, he was director of business development for Sonat Marketing Company and had been managing director for El Paso Energy and Tenneco Energy from 1984 through 1998. Bond earned a Bachelor of Science degree in economics from Texas A&M University. He resides in Houston, Texas.
